Leaf-Peeping Pooch
Fall is in the air! I love the smell of fall and my parents took me for a hike where I got a big whiff of it. This week is the perfect week to check out the aspens change colors. The Crags hike was colorful and so much fun! There were lots of other dogs there – five that looked just like me. Mom put that darn thing on my back again but I didn’t let it stop me from heading to the creek and sniffing for squirrels! At the top of this fairly easy hike, I felt like I was on top of the world. Check out the photos in the Photo Gallery to see more.
America the Beautiful Park
My dad had a day off work today so we surprised Mom with a picnic lunch at America the Beautiful Park. It was a perfect day out – bright blue skies and not a cloud to be seen. We had a great walk around the park and I even got to introduce myself to a poodle named Daisy. I’m not sure how humans really get a sense of a person when they shake hands – dogs definitely do it right with a good sniff!

Seven Bridges Trail
When mom and I go for walks now, she puts this heavy thing on my back. It really messes with my ability to mark my spot on everything. But I learned a trick to getting it off…go swimming! She kept saying something about her cell phone getting wet, but I wasn’t concerned- there was a creek for me to explore! Mom kept walking on these wooden things, but I didn’t bother with them. I love getting my paws wet. We had a great hike up in the mountains. The forest provided plenty of shade and plenty of squirrel sightings.

Red Rocks Canyon Open Space
One of my favorite open spaces in Colorado Springs is at Red Rocks Canyon Open Space. Over 13 miles of hiking for me to explore with views of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak that every dog and human has to love. Mom keeps me on a leash for most of the hike, but there are two areas where I get to run free! Watch out for the cactus though, sniff em and they hurt!

Bear Creek Dog Park
Hi there! My name is Chief and I looove to go for walks! Swimming? Count me in! My people have been taking me exploring through Colorado Springs since we moved here. I’m going to share videos, pictures and stories of my favorite places we go to in this pet-friendly city. My favorite place in the whole world is here in the Springs: Bear Creek Dog Park. My people take me here every weekend-which is never enough! All the dogs are fun, friendly and different! There are dogs of all smells and sizes, but none rule the water like I do!

Sit. Stay. Read.
Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? We can’t help it – when we see our lady putting on her “walking paws” and getting in the “big box on wheels” we know we’re heading for the dog park! At least we hope it’s the dog park and not the vet (turn your head and bark!). Colorado Springs is a great place to be a dog. We have dog parks, off-leash areas, hiking trails and pet-friendly hotels, restaurants and attractions. Subscribe to our blog and we’ll take a long walk around the region to show you and your human the best spots in town – we’ve marked ‘em all!
